As CDVCA marks its 30th anniversary, we are proud to welcome two distinguished leaders, Randy Kahn and Grady Vanderhoofven, to our Board of Directors. Both bring decades of experience in community development venture capital fund management, impact investing, and economic development in low-income communities, strengthening CDVCA’s mission to drive capital into underserved communities.
Grady Vanderhoofven, Founder, President & CEO of Three Roots Capital, brings more than 25 years of experience in community development venture capital fund management to CDVCA. He co-founded and managed multiple private investment funds, including Meritus Ventures, the first Rural Business Investment Company (RBIC) in the U.S., and Southern Appalachian Fund (SAF), which raised $53 million and attracting over $300 million in additional investment. Through Three Roots Capital, a CDFI and CDE, he has raised over $200 million and deployed more than $163 million in debt and equity to businesses and projects in Appalachia and the Southeastern U.S.
Randy Kahn, Executive President and Co-Founder of Greenline Community Ventures, LLC, has been a leader in delivering capital to low-income communities through for more than three decades. With over $750 million in assets managed and more than $1.5 billion raised in debt and equity funds, he has played a pivotal role in financing mission-driven projects across the U.S.
